WOW... long time since all of you heard from cute little me right??? My mummy too busy to on the laptop for me lah... and mummy says I'm too young to switch it on myself... power plug too dangerous :(

Anyway, Papa and Mummy brought me to Studio Loft yesterday to shoot some CNY photos, and, Oh, Christmas photos too, coz Mummy missed that one in December last year :)

I'm Back

Wahhh I had been away for a long time eh? Was so busy drinking milk milk and sleeping (though Mummy and Papa always say I don't want to sleep) that I had no time to write about my life :)

Anyway, Baby Ch'en Hsi's back!!! :)

Here's an extremely late photo of my full month cake which Mummy bought for the T3 gang! It's nice, isn't it? I'm Mummy and Papa's prince :)

I Will Remember Auntie Yizhen

Yesterday was my actual full month. It was exactly one month since I popped from Mummy's tummy :)

Mummy had been secretly crying these few days... she told me she misses Auntie Yizhen, our confinement lady, who went back home on Tuesday, 4 November 2008, after competing 28 days of her confinement duties with us. Mummy misses her not because of the lack of her help once she's gone, but rather, Auntie Yizhen as a person.

Auntie Yizhen had been very nice, very efficient and very effective. She had helped Mummy increase her milk supply so that this little hungry me has got enough to drink at every meal. Before Auntie Yizhen left, she was so worried Mummy will not have time to cook while looking after me alone at home - and might not eat well resulting in low milk supply. So you know what she did? She prepared, cooked and froze Mummy's meals for the next 2 weeks!!!!!! So even though Auntie Yizhen is back home in Johor now, Mummy is still eating her home cooked food... she just need to thaw and warm up.............. isn't Auntie Yizhen nice???

While chit chatting at home (I was asleep but I sort of heard the conversation... I didn't eavesdrop hor!), Auntie Yizhen told Mummy her life story... and it really made Mummy sad... Auntie Yizhen is such a strong, independent woman. If she believes in next lives, I sincerely wish she can lead a better, fortunate life in her next life.

Mummy told me to always remember Auntie Yizhen. She says we can go visit her in Johor in future!!! But that will be a long time later, coz Auntie Yizhen is going Australia for 10 months and UK for 3 months for confinement duties. By the time I see her, I'll be 1+ year old!!!

I miss Auntie Yizhen too. She took great care of me with all her heart. She kissed me goodbye on the forehead.

I will remember her.

Mummy's gonna send this photo to Auntie Yizhen. I was crying throughout the farewell. I knew I will miss her :(

Papa's Tummy is So Comfy

Papa likes to put me on my tummy and on his tummy :)

I like it, coz Papa's tummy is so warm and comfy! Must be all the Ruffles sour cream and cheddar cheeze chips he had been munching on.

And I can lift my head slightly, for a lllooonnnggg time! I'm a strong boy :)

My first toy

My first toy is from my maternal seventh Grand-Aunt. Yes seventh. My Gua-ma has 9 sisters and 6 brothers! Mummy always wonder how her Grandma tahan all the labour pain when there was no epidural in those days...

The toy is a cute little furry rattle from Hong Kong Disneyland! It's blue and soft. As I still dunno how to rattle the toy, Mummy will place the toy in front of me when she's too tired to entertain me. *herghhh* I'll usually have my gaze transfixed on the toy and fall asleep :)

I'm 1 Month Old!

I'm finally 1 month old :)

Time flies eh? It had been 4 weeks since I popped from Mummy's tummy :) Life had been good outside. I simply just cry and I get what I want... although sometimes the adults take some time before figuring out what I am screaming for :)

To signify my full month, Mummy snipped a little of my hair and trimmed my fingernails and kept all these in red packets. These are for keepsake. Next time when I grow up, Mummy says she'll pass them to me :)

Auntie Yizhen bathed me in water with promeganate and pomelo leaves, which signify good luck ahead :) Ah-ma and Gua-ma also gave me some gold in the form of bracelets, necklace and a ring to celebrate my full month :) The bracelet from Gua-ma was the same one Mummy wore when she was a baby!!!

The celebrations ended with yummy durian cake from Emi's... too bad Mummy say I'm too young to eat the cake. But tell you something, I tasted the durian cake in Mummy's milk today. kekekekekeke :)

I Love to Pom-pom

What's pom-pom? Pom-pom is "take a bath" in baby language. Mummy always say "It's pom-pom time!" and I will get all excited... coz I really like to pom-pom!!! :)

I'll Be a Star Tomorrow

Mummy and Papa will be celebrating my full month tomorrow!!!

I'll be turning 1 month on 6 Nov 08, which is next Thursday. But according to Chinese beliefs, full month celebrations can only be brought forward, but not be-lated. SO THE CELEBRATION WILL BE TOMORROW! :) so exciting :-)

Papa say it will just be a small, cozy gathering between Mummy and Papa's families :) Ah-ma will do the cooking... heard got curry, red eggs, fried bee hoon, glutinous rice, cake... yummy *slurp*!

These few days I had been very naughty. Auntie Yizhen says babies usually become very naughty the week before they turn 1 month old... I know Mummy is secretly hoping I will really stop all my nonsense after the full month celebration. kekeke.

I had been asking for milk every 2 hours, sometimes earlier. And I had been wanting to be carried ALL THE TIME. I will eh-eh-eh once I feel the cot bedding on my back... I'm creating havoc in all imaginable ways. HAHAHA~~~

See how lar, if my mood is good, then I'll consider being a good boy when I turn 1 month :)

My Grandma struck 4D by buying the first 4 digits of my birth certificate number! Aren't I a lucky boy??? *grin*

You know what? I popped from Mummy's tummy holding a handful of meconium (baby's first poo) in my right hand! Is this what the Chinese refer to as "bringing fortune"? The nurse had to clean my hand when cleaning me and wrapping me up to be weighed :)

My First Massage

Mummy had her first malay massage yesterday, and it's gonna be a daily affair for the next 10 days. My vain mummy was hoping her tummy will go down further with the use of herbs, oil and the cloth binder. The massage lady was very young (I stole a look at her when she walked past my cot) and she was late - said couldn't find the place... sighhh... even a small baby like me can't stand people being late... think I took after mummy in this aspect.

Heng heng the massage was good. Mummy say some areas pain pain but generally ok... and the cloth binder is super tight. The herbs used inside the cloth binder felt burning for about 20mins... should be able to burn some fats?

Best part of all --> the massage lady gave me a baby massage!!!!!! wooohoooooo!!~~~

So shiok eh? She used some malay traditional oil and massaged my hands, legs, feet, back, tummy, head :) And she exercised my legs and curled them up towards my belly... so that I can expel the wind wind in my tummy by farting (oops... I love to do this) and burping :)

After that she tied me up... ok, I meant swaddled me really tight! She tied up the ends of the swaddle cloth at my ankles! And she told mummy let me struggle free on my own, so that I can build muscles (to save damsels in future?) by exercising my limbs and body.

Mummy says she's gonna learn and massage me everyday... yippie!!! :)

My First Screen Appearance

My First Visit to the PD

Hello!

I made my first visit to my PD Dr Ong E.K. at TMC on 10 Oct 2008, 4 days after my arrival :) It was fun as I saw alot of other babies at the clinic! Some baby girls are rather cute :)

Dr Ong must be very popular, the queue was sooo long!!! We waited and waited... and I got hungry... but I dunno how to tell Papa and Mummy... so I wailed!!! I'm proud to say I cried the loudest of all babies in the clinic. I'm the champion! :)

Heng heng my caretaker of the month - confinement lady Auntie Yizhen brought along my milk milk. So I drank heartily away :)

Finally, it's our turn! Dr Ong says I must do a test for jaundice to see if I improved (I had a bordeline result for jaundice when I was born). Otherwise, I'm a healthy baby! Mummy told Dr Ong that I burp and fart alot. Oops! How can Mummy disgrace me in front of outsiders?! Wanna protest but dunno how to put in words :(

Luckily my test results say my jaundice level is fine!!!!!!!!!~~ Yeyyy! I hate the sun tanning every morning... I felt like a satay on a grill!

My Birth Story

This is my story that brought me into the lives of my Mummy and Papa...

My Mummy and Papa told me on the night of 4 Oct 2008 that I'll better decide to come out by myself (I was already overdue), if not, they'll take me out by force (induction) on 7 Oct 2008!!! Wah they are really evil, aren't they? I'm just a innocent baby! Ok, since this is their last straw, I decided to make my appearance the next day! kekeke :)

Sunday 5 Oct 2008

0700hrs - Mummy went washroom and saw quite alot of blood

0830hrs - Mummy showered, washed hair and went to TMC with Papa

0900hrs - Mummy strapped onto CTG, contractions at 4min intervals were detected but she felt no pain. Her cervix was 1cm dilated. I am waiting to be out! :)

1000hrs - Doc came to take a look. Mummy requested to leave TMC for a walk coz she felt no pain and hope that the walk will speed up labour. Doc said ok and asked her to admit in the afternoon if there's alot of bleeding again. I was sniggering inside :)

1430hrs - After makan and shopping at Ang Mo Kio, Papa sent Mummy home for a shower as the weather was oh-so-hot!

1500hrs - Mummy showered and got a shock of her life. Blood was streaming down her legs... gushing down is maybe a more appropriate term. And blood clots was everywhere.

1530hrs - Mummy was admitted to TMC delivery ward 7 with 2.5cm cervix dilation

1700hrs - Doc came and broke water bag coz labour was progressing slowly, Mummy felt pain started coming in with contractions at close intervals. I suddenly felt the warm water around me draining away......

2130hrs - Mummy cannot tahan pain anymore and asked for epidural!

Mummy still can eat in the middle of labour! Can you see me in the photo? I'm in the tummy :)

Monday 6 Oct 2008

0320hrs - Midwives asked Mummy to push to bring my head lower. Mummy pushed really hard and I crowned after 2 sets of pushes. I can hear Mummy ask if I have any hair, and the midwives and Papa replied "Yes, lots of hair!"

0340hrs - Doc arrived and Mummy was asked to push again

0353hrs - After 2 sets of pushes, my head was out! I was suddenly immersed in bright lights... and I can see many faces around me... but all are in a blur... Mummy made 1 last push and I'm all out! Hello, Mummy! Hello, Papa!

I weight 3.295kg, height 50cm and head circumference 33cm :)

I am finally here.

My Arrival

My Mummy had a scare on the morning of 5 Oct 2008 when she woke up and went to the washroom. She saw blood... quite alot of it. But she remained calm, took a shower and washed her hair, blew dry her hair, then went to Thomson Medical Center with Papa, with hospital bags in tow :)

I was rather comfy in my Mummy's tummy and was already overdue... I was estimated to pop out on 4 Oct 2008... after much persuasion (Doc had to help stretch Mummy's cervix, and had to administer Oxytocin drip and break water bag to speed up labour), I finally made my grand entrance into Mummy and Papa's life at 0353hrs on 6 Oct 2008.
